The teacher noticed that Mike had been daydreaming for a long time. She decided to get his attention.
"Mike," she said. "If the world is 25,000 miles around and eggs are three dollars a dozen, how old am I?"
"Thirty-four," Mike answered without hesitation.
The teacher replied, "Well, that's not far from the truth. Tell me ... how did you guess?"

After the fourth puppy, I noticed my hitherto talkative client had grown silent. As I sprinkled the last pup's head, the woman leaned forward and whispered, "I never realized they had to be baptized."

The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
