It is a common rule of the world that when a person faces hardship, sorrow, or distress, they break. Grief depresses a person both physically and mentally, and even the most powerful individuals are brought to 
their knees before it. Sometimes, this sorrow obliterates every trace of happiness from life, leaving one yearning for just a single moment of peace.
However, the message of the Holy Bible stands in stark contrast to this worldly mindset. The Bible teaches us that no matter how unfavorable the circumstances may be, we must always rejoice in the Lord. Outwardly, this seems impossible, but the power of faith makes it a reality.
1. The Faith of the Prophet Habakkuk: Rejoicing in Great Loss
In the Old Testament, the prophet Habakkuk describes a state where, from a worldly perspective, everything has been lost—yet he resolves to remain joyful in God. He declares:
"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines... and the sheep pen is empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength."
The Lord is Our Strength: Prophet Habakkuk remains joyful despite such immense financial and material loss because his trust was not placed in worldly possessions, but in the person of God.
Overcoming Personal and Material Losses: For those whose ultimate strength is God, no matter how much sorrow or loss they endure in their business or personal lives, the power of their faith teaches them to triumph over their grief.
2. Praise in the Prison Cell: The Testimony of Paul and Silas
When we study the New Testament, specifically the Acts of the Apostles and the epistles, we encounter the story of Paul and Silas. They were thrown into prison for preaching the love of Jesus Christ; their backs were severely flogged, and their feet were fastened in the stocks.
Joy in the Midst of Helplessness: That dark prison cell was a symbol of sorrow, helplessness, and despair. Yet, observe the profound peace of these servants of God. Instead of groaning in pain and agony, they began singing hymns of praise to God at midnight.
A Marvel to the World: The other prisoners listened to them in sheer astonishment, wondering what kind of captives these were who could remain so joyful in such a dreadful state. This was a strange and extraordinary testimony to the watching world.
3. The Result of Divine Joy: Breaking Chains and the Message of Salvation
When, through the Holy Spirit, we hold fast to the joy of God even in our darkest times, the results are nothing short of miraculous:
The Unshackling of Chains: As a result of the praise and joy of Paul and Silas, a massive earthquake struck, the prison doors flew open, and everyone's chains came loose.
The Salvation of a Family: Witnessing this miracle and the unshakeable peace of God's servants, the jailer was terrified. He fell at their feet and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
Spreading the Gospel: They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." Thus, their joy became a direct conduit for bringing salvation to others.
Conclusion
Today, countless people around the world are living lives filled with suffering, illness, financial hardship, and despair, far removed from true happiness. The message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ remains a brilliant beacon of hope for these disheartened souls.
When a believer demonstrates the joy they receive from the Lord—even in the very midst of their suffering—they become a living testimony to the world. This joy not only shatters our own earthly chains but also powerfully persuades others to put their faith in Jesus Christ.
This year, we celebrated our elder son's birthday on the 24th of April. It was a great day for us as we thanked the Lord and prayed for him. He cut the cake in front of the guests, and everyone congratulated him as he received the gifts. He then said to me, "Papa, I want to ask you a question." I replied, "Yes, definitely ask." He asked, "I have been with you for 12 years. How do you feel? Explain your feelings." Upon hearing this, I was shocked and surprised. The room fell silent. It was indeed an interesting and worthy question. I began to reflect on the past 12 years from his birthuntil the present day, as each year brought different feelings for him.
Many people, when thinking about a good church, have an idea of a beautiful church building with good seating arrangements, good parking, and a lawn where I can walk. This kind of person does not care about the service or the sermon. That kind of church, they think is an ideal church. This is not the picture of a true church. The Book of Acts tells us about the picture of a good church, but before we discuss the virtues, we need to know what the church is. 
When we look at the nature of God, we come to know that He is a loving God and always keeps his fellowship with human beings because He created them in His own image. Man has the skill to speak, listen, and time to adopt silence.
Almost every religion in the world has the concept of fasting. Muslims keep thirsty fasts in the year and Jews keep twenty-two fasts in the year Christians keep forty days of fasting in the year and the Church calls this season lent. Lent means the spring season, which means fasting brings a new spiritual spring into the life of believers, and they enjoy it, but Christians can keep fasting anytime in the year.
