Eight-year-old Nina brought her report card home from school. Her marks were good...mostly A's and a couple of B's.
However, her teacher had written across the bottom: "Nina is a smart little girl, but she has one fault. She talks too much in school. I have an idea I am going to try, which I think may break her of the habit."

Yesterday I was cooking dinner and my son came up to me and said, "Someday I'll work and help you with groceries, bills and house expenses..." My eyes started to tear up - my baby will be 32 next month!
I used to work for a large company, they often did special things for us to make work a little more enjoyable. Below are a string of memos we received over the course of just over 2 months:
Casual Day Memo No. 1: Effective immediately, the company is adopting Fridays as Casual Day so that employees may express their diversity.
Memo No. 2: Spandex and leather micro-miniskirts are not appropriate attire for Casual Day. Neither are string ties, rodeo belt buckles or moccasins.
Memo No. 3: Casual Day refers to dress only, not attitude. When planning Friday's wardrobe, remember image is a key to our success.
Bill: It's my wife's birthday tomorrow. Last week I asked her what she wanted as a present.
Doug: So what did she ask for?
Bill: She said, "Oh, I don't know, just give me something with diamonds."
And so that's why I'm giving her a pack of playing cards.
A mother was teaching her young daughter The Lord's Prayer.
For several evenings at bedtime, the child repeated it after the mother. Then one night the child was ready to solo. The mother listened with pride to the carefully enunciated words, right up to the end.
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us some e-mail, Amen."

The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
