Cybersalt News

Sunday greetings everyone!

You know, I really do try to not have grammatical and/or spelling errors in the Cybersalt News. With that in mind, shout out to David. W. Jr. for noticing that last Sunday I used "loose" instead of "lose" in the newsletter.

Once again, nobody else caught that one - or at least no one else mentioned it. In fact, I was wondering if maybe a number of you had noticed it and decided to just say nothing and keep it a secret. After all, that is a very good practice which is best summed up in that familiar saying, "Lose lips sink ships!"

Today's video share is beautiful story of a community effort to be kind and love someone in their midst. My favorite part is when they send the smoke signal - so beautiful!

Jimmy was sent to prison for his crimes but he told the warden he wasn't worried at all about serving his full term.

The warden asked him why, since most prisoners immediately start planning how they can get out early.

Jimmy replied, "Well, my wife has never let me finish a sentence the whole time I've been married!"

Our three-year-old daughter, Jenna, was having trouble sleeping through the night, waking up because she was afraid. Each time as I re-tucked her into bed, I would remind her that Jesus was with her and he would keep her safe. The sleepless nights continued, with Jenna seeking comfort in our bedroom.

Finally, one night, I asked her if she had prayed for Jesus to take her fear away and help her fall asleep.

"Oh, yes," she assured me. "He told me to come and get you!"

With such a tumultuous summer, I’m glad we are now beginning the fall season. There for a while, I didn’t think it was going to come. But, contrary to my negativity, it has arrived, and I’m delighted.

Summer wasn’t quite the way summers have been in the past. My family didn’t have many get-togethers and picnics like we normally do. However, we did have one, and that had to do for the summer. I’m hoping next summer we can catch up.

I remember when I was young, summer was a wonderful time. But, of course, maybe my memories are more wonderful than it actually was. At my age, you can’t always depend upon your memory. But then, it goes the other way as well.
