Time Off

man puzzledTwo factory workers were talking. "I know how to get some time off from work," said the man.

"How do you think you will do that?" said the other. He proceeded to show her...by climbing up to the rafters, and hanging upside down.

The boss walked in, saw the worker hanging from the ceiling, and asked him what on earth he was doing?

"I'm a light bulb" answered the guy.

"I think you need some time off," said the boss. So, the man jumped down and walked out of the factory.

The second worker began walking out too.

The boss asked her where did she think she was going?

"Home. I can't work in the dark."

Cybersalt News

Sunday greetings everyone.

ajrak traditionHappy birthday to Grandma Cybersalt! That's right, she has completed another trip around the sun and we are both very grateful for that! Both of our ages are starting to get up there, but we realize the only alternative to having more birthdays is to stop having them so onward we press!

Speaking of birthdays, yesterday was Bill Romahn's birthday. Who is that you ask? Bill, and his wife Beth are long time subscribers who blessed me with a visit when they were in my city years ago. We did a very Canadian thing and met for coffee at Tim Hortons and I remember that time often! Bill crossed the country with a box of material for the Cybersalt Digest. He has a keen eye for great content, undoubtedly from his years of speaking and speech writing for the federal government. While the speed of copying and pasting material on the computer more often suits my crowded schedule best, I still have the box and thought I'd dip into it to share this bonus item:

A grade school teacher was grading a science test on the human body. The first question was "Name one of the major functions of your skin." One child had written: "To keep people who look at you from throwing up."

Thanks again, Bill!

Todays video share may prove to be timely if you are one of the many people who struggle with what to do with your excess camel dung. If you are crafty you might take up the amazing, ancient process of Ajrak!

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing!

Dog License

dog in carDuring a county-wide drive to round up all unlicensed dogs, a patrolman signaled a car to pull over to the curb.

When the driver asked why he had been stopped, the officer pointed to the big dog sitting on the seat beside him and asked, "Does your dog have a license?"

"No," the man said, "he doesn't need one."

"Yes he does," answered the officer.

"But," said the driver, "I always do all the driving."

Quote #2067

thinking"The Christian Gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time. It undermines both swaggering and sniveling. I cannot feel superior to anyone, and yet I have nothing to prove to anyone. I do not think more of myself nor less of myself. Instead, I think of myself less."

- Timothy Keller, The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism

wheelchair manWhile I sat in the reception area of my doctor's office, a woman rolled an elderly man in a wheelchair into the room. As she went to the receptionist's desk, the man sat there, alone and silent.

Just as I was thinking I should make small talk with him, a little boy slipped off his mother's lap and walked over to the wheelchair. Placing his hand on the man's, he said, "I know how you feel. My mom makes me ride in the stroller, too."

Rev. James Snyder, God's Penman, writes . . . .

Mr. Cold, Please Go Away

winter iceThe older I get, the more allergic I am to cold. So whenever the temperature dips below my age number, that is too cold for me.

I know some people relish the cold; that person is not me.

There are some things that I enjoy being cold. I like my iced tea to be very cold, making it rather delicious. So whenever I drink any soda (please don’t let the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage know), I like it very cold. The colder, the better as far as I’m concerned.

catmelonhead150x127.jpgOver the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.

And so, whether you are a cat lover or tolerator, we hope you enjoy these funny cat pictures. And, of course, if you have any funny cat pictures you want to share with the world, feel free to send them to us to post here.

Funny Dog Pictures Article Count:  149

dog_maggie.jpgSome say the world can be divided into two types - cat people and dog people. For the cat people of the planet, Cybersalt has the Funny Cat Archive. For the dog people we have this Funny Dog Pictures archive.

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
