"Several years ago, we were rehearsing 'Little Women' for our Garland Civic Theatre.

The older gentleman who was playing the father's part was wearing a hearing aid.

We wondered why he kept missing his cues until we discovered that it was not a hearing aid.

He was listening to a ball game."

Glenelg, Maryland is such a small community, I was surprised that they had a community paper. I asked one old-timer about it.

He replied, "We all know what everybody else is doing, but we like to read the paper anyway to see who's been caught at it."

One of the things I admire most about mankind is our ability to come up with creative ways to die while having an adrenalin rush.

Take me for example.  Though I did not die doing it, I did try to drive up a real snowy hill today just to see if my car would make it.  When it started to slide down backwards I remembered the sinking feeling I had during the last snow storm when I ripped the mirror off of the passenger side door trying to do the same thing on my friend's steep driveway.  

But like I said, I didn't die trying.  I mean, it's not like I strapped wings and 4 jet engines to my arms and jumped out of an airplane.  OK, that guy didn't die either, but I think that is more likely to get him before snowy hills do me.
