A ten-year-old girl asked and received help from a librarian on how to use the card catalog. In a little while, the girl approached the librarian again, wanting to know how to spell "tequila."
"T-e-q-u-i-l-a," spelled the librarian, as the girl thanked her and went back to her search. A short time later she came to the desk, looking quite distraught.
"I just can't find it," she said. "What book are you looking for, honey?" the librarian asked.
Replied the little girl, "Tequila Mockingbird."
My wife and I were having lunch at a fashionable eatery in Annapolis when we noticed what looked like a familiar face at the next table. Screwing up my courage, I asked, "Excuse me. Aren't you Marlin Fitzwater, the former White House press secretary?"
"Yes, I am," he acknowledged, and graciously interrupted his lunch to talk to us.
As we were leaving the restaurant, I remarked to the hostess, "Do you know you have Marlin Fitzwater on the terrace?"
"I'm not sure about that," she replied, "but we have Perrier and Evian at the bar."
When I attended a convention once of oil men, the first speaker was from Texas. He rambled on about nonsense for a good half hour and then introduced the next gent, who happened to be from Oklahoma. The Texan ended his introduction with, "Now I give you Mr. Murcer from Oklahoma, an outlying province of Texas."
With that, Mr. Murcer began his speech, "Thank you, Mr. Smithson, but, just to set the record straight. There ain't no state that can out-lie Texas."

John and Mark of The A-Team, Inc, were noted for their abilities to solve any computer problem.
Their greatest challenge was to create a network for a company who occupied several floors of a building constructed from heavy steel and concrete.
When they succeeded, John said to Mark, "Don't you love it when a LAN comes together?"
Three cowboys were hanging out in the bunkhouse.
"I know that smart alec Tex" said the first. "He's going to start bragging about that new foreign car he ought as soon as he gets back"
"Not Tex" said the second. "He'll always be just a good ol' boy. When he walks in, I'm sure all he'll say is hello."
"I know Tex better than any of you," said the third. "He's so smart, he'll figure out a way to do both. Here he comes now"
Tex swung open the bunkhouse door and shouted "Audi, partners!"
