Reverend Smith, a respected church leader, arrived in a large city to deliver a series of speeches. At a banquet the first evening, he noticed some reporters in the audience.
Because he wanted to use some of the stories he told that night in his speeches the next day, he asked the reporters to omit them from their articles.
One article that came out the next day, written by a cub reporter, concluded with this line: "Reverend Smith also told a number of stories that cannot be printed."

Mrs. Donovan was walking down O'Connell Street in Dublin when she met up with Father Flaherty.

She replied, "Aye, that ye did, Father."
The Father asked, "And be there any wee ones yet?"
She replied, "No, not yet, Father."
The Father said, "Well now, I'm going to Rome next week and I'll light a candle for ye and yer husband."
She replied, "Oh, thank ye, Father."
They parted ways. Some years later they met again. The Father asked, "Well now, Mrs. Donovan, how are ye these days?"
She replied, "Oh, very well, Father!"
The Father asked, "And tell me, have ye any wee ones yet?"
She replied, "Oh yes, Father! Three sets of twins and 4 singles, 10 in all!"
The Father said, "That's wonderful!" How is yer loving husband doing?"
She replied, "E's gone to Rome to blow out yer candle."
A husband and wife, both getting on in years, are in bed one morning.
He takes her hand, and she says, "Don't touch me."
He says, "Why not?"
She answers, " Because I'm dead."
Husband says, "What are you talking about? We're lying here talking to one another."
