Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
Thanks to Richard T. for another chicken picture! He saw this chicken crossing the road - I don't know why, but he may have just tried to eat that bug.
A while ago, I mentioned that Cybersalt is training a persecuted Christian to be able to make web pages as a source of income for his family and to ultimately train others to do the same in his country. He has just helped out by working on his first Cybersalt project.
A walking club asked for the information from their very old website (built in a system no longer being supported) and make them a WordPress site. They didn't have a huge budget for all the work to be done, so they asked for the very basic structure and some video training tutorials so they could work on the the rest. Our trainee did a bunch of the work recreating their pages to give them a good foundation to build on.
That new site is now live at: www.victoriapathfinders.ca. The walking club still have much of their work to do including getting a new logo designed for them, which I will add to the site when it is ready. You can still see the old website at gardencitywanderers.ca
I'm looking for more projects to train our protege on. If you have one, please reply to this email and let me know.

Honeymoon Toast
One of my daughter's wedding presents was a toaster oven. Soon after the honeymoon, she and her husband tried it out. Almost immediately, smoke billowed out of the toaster.
"Get the owner's manual!" my daughter's husband shouted.
"I can't find it anywhere!" cried my daughter a short time later.
"Oops!" came a voice from the kitchen. "Well, the toast is fine, but the owner's manual's burned to a crisp."

Maury and his wife showed up to a very popular restaurant, but it was very crowded. Mrs. Maury went up to the hostess and asked, "Will it be long?"
The hostess appeared to ignore her and kept writing in her book. So she asked again, "How much of a wait?"
The hostess then looked up and said, "About ten minutes."
A short time later they heard an announcement over the loudspeaker, "Willete B. Long, your table is ready."

Raising My Sights
My six-year-old granddaughter, Caitlynd, and I stopped at a Tim Horton's donut shop for a blueberry muffin. As we were going out the door, a young teenage boy was coming in.
This young man had no hair on the sides of his head and tuft of blue spiked hair on top of it. One of his nostrils was pierced, and attached to the hoop that ran through the hole, was a chain that draped across his face and attached to a ring he was wearing in his ear. He held a skateboard under one arm and a basketball under the other.
Caitlynd, who was walking ahead of me, stopped in her tracks when she saw the teen. I thought he'd scared the dickens out of her and she'd frozen on the spot.
I was wrong.
My GrandAngel backed up against the door and opened it as wide as it would go. Now I was face to face with the young man. I stepped aside and let him pass. His gracious response was a kind, "Thank you very much."
On our way to the car, I commended Caitlynd for her manners in holding open the door for the young man. She didn't seem to be troubled by his appearance but I wanted to make sure. If a grandmotherly talk about freedom of self expression and allowing people their differences was in order, I wanted to be ready.
As it turned out, the person who needed the talk was me.
The only thing Caitlynd noticed about the teen, was the fact that his arms were full. "He woulda' had a hard time to open the door."
I saw the partially shaved head, the tuft of spiked hair, the piercings and the chain. She saw a person carrying something under each arm and heading toward a door.
In the future, I hope to get down on her level and raise my sights.

Over the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.
Some say the world can be divided into two types - cat people and dog people. For the cat people of the planet, Cybersalt has the
