The largest fish I ever caught was a 36 pound Chinook Salmon.  I can't say it was a lot of work because not having caught a lot of fish that size, I figured that was just the normal effort required for fishing.

I suppose that some of the ease with which I fished was due to the fact that I was with my brother-in-law and it was his boat, down riggers, poles, and bait.  It was a great day and is a great memory to have.  It couldn't have been easier - even if I was with fishing guide Bob Izumi. OK, I suppose the fish could have just jumped right into the boat.

Like that would happen!

Summer vacation was almost about to start and the teacher asked little Sammy about a family trip she vaguely knew he would be going on.

"We are going to visit my grandmother in Minneapolis, Minnesota."

The teacher asked, "Good, can you tell the class how you spell that?"

Sammy said, "Actually, we are going to Ohio."

In the early 1990's, when I was stationed at Caserma Carlo Ederle in Italy, it was very common to see soldiers riding bicycles back and forth to work.

So it came as no big surprise that, after a series of painfully comic accidents, a new policy was announced, saying in summary, "Soldiers shall no longer salute officers who are engaged in the riding of a bicycle."

The closest I have ever come to owning a Jaguar was when I owned a BMW. (It makes sense in my head anyway.)

It was not in mint condition so I parked it wherever I wanted to.  I've also enjoyed the same parking habits with my Dodge Caravan, Chrysler New Yorker, Toyota Tercel, Plymouth Duster, Toyota Corolla, Datsun 310, Chrysler K Car, and Buick Skylark.

That's the advantage of driving vehicles with a few dings and scratches.  You can park where you want to and apparently your co-workers will never feel the need to prank your car with Post-It notes.

I do not like yard work.  I am especially not fond of cutting the grass - though I have fond memories of our old Lawn Boy lawnmower.

One of the things that drives me nuts about cutting the grass is having to first stoop and scoop our dog's stuff, move planters, lawn chairs, and then visiting relatives so I can have a straight run at our offensively tall blades of grass (I know it's not Kentucky Blue because it's green) with my Sears 6.5 horsepower, gas powered, self-propelled, rear bagging mower.  Don't even get me going about having to navigate around trees and their roots.

My motto for cutting the grass? - "What I mow, let me mow quickly and in a straight line."

Needless to say, I won't be adding one of these grass chairs to my backyard very soon.
