Yoda best, dad!

My wife told me I've grown as a person ... her actual words were "You've gotten fat" but I know what she meant.
A loaded SUV pulled in to the only remaining campsite. Four children leapt from the vehicle and began feverishly unloading gear and setting up the tent. The boys rushed to gather firewood, while the girls and their mother set up the camp stove and cooking utensils.
A nearby camper marveled to the youngsters' father, "That, sir, is some display of teamwork."
The father replied, "I have a system; no one goes to the bathroom until the camp is set up."

Today's video share is more evidence of a part of human nature that I find quite curious and entertaining. It seems that no matter what mankind invents, it isn't long before some people want to race with it!

Lodge Meeting
The wife heard her husband come back into the house not too long after he had left.
She said, "Hon, I thought you were going to your lodge meeting."
"It was postponed." he replied. "The wife of the Grand Exalted Invincible Supreme Potentate had other plans for him tonight."

Making the Most of Life
If I can throw a single ray of light across the darkened pathway of another;
If I can aid some soul to clearer sight of life and duty, and thus bless my brother;
If I can wipe from any human cheek a tear,
I shall not have lived my life in vain while here.
If I can guide some erring one to truth, inspire within his heart a sense of duty;
If I can plant within my soul of rosy youth a sense of right, a love of truth and beauty;
If I can teach one man that God and heaven are near,
I shall not then have lived in vain while here.
If from my mind I banish doubt and fear, and keep my life attuned to love and kindness;
If I can scatter light and hope and cheer, and help remove the curse of mental blindness;
If I can make more joy, more hope, less pain,
I shall not have lived and loved in vain.
If by life's roadside I can plant a tree, beneath whose shade some wearied head may rest,
Though I may never share its beauty, I shall yet be truly blest
Though no one knows my name, nor drops a flower upon my grave,
I shall not have lived in vain while here.

Susan Page writes . . . .
Crossing the Line
- photo by Susan PageYears ago, I wrote a devotional entitled Tennis Foul. In it, I shared how I love the game of tennis, both playing and watching. My son-in-law likes to tease me because he thinks watching a ball hit back and forth for hours on end is boring. Yet, he’s a Nascar nut… go figure!
In my last devotional on this subject, I shared how disappointed I was to see an episode of unsportsmanlike conduct by a player on the women’s circuit. Viewing this display gave me pause to think of my unforced errors in the game of life, so to speak.

One night a teenage girl brought her new boyfriend home to meet her parents and they were appalled by his appearance: leather jacket, motorcycle boots, tattoos and pierced nose.
Later, the parents pulled their daughter aside and confessed their concern. "Dear," said the mother diplomatically, "he doesn't seem very nice."

Over the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.
And so, whether you are a cat lover or tolerator, we hope you enjoy these funny cat pictures. And, of course, if you have any funny cat pictures you want to share with the world, feel free to send them to us to post here.

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
