Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

29,000 Feet Up Mount Everest with DJI Mavic 4 ProWhen Grandma CyberSalt turned 35, our 10-year-old daughter cheerfully commented that according to the Bible (Psalm 90:10) she had lived half of her life. We were both amused because we're more interested in our children feeling free to share the Bible than we are in being vain and thinking that we're going to be young forever.

This past Tuesday, our son turned 35, and as we were driving to his house to celebrate with him and his family and other family members, my wife commented that according to the Bible, he now had lived half his life. I agreed and commented that the second half he was entering is the half that goes by much faster!

I was going to climb Mount Everest later this year, but thanks to today's video share I no longer need to see what's up there!

Quick Proposal

A front view of a country club building. At a country-club party a young man was introduced to an attractive girl. Immediately he began paying her court and flattering her outrageously. The girl liked the young man, but she was taken a bit aback by his fast and ardent pitch. She was amazed when after 30 minutes he seriously proposed marriage.

"Look," she said. "We only met a half hour ago. How can you be so sure? We know nothing about each other."

"You're wrong," the young man declared.

"For the past 5 years I've been working in the bank where your father has his account."

One-Liner # 1938

A head-shot of a man in his early thirties, full beard, looking directly at us.I went for a run but came back after 2 minutes because I forgot something; I forgot I'm out of shape and can't run for more than 2 minutes.

The Grown Up Life

A black and white image of a man looking off to the side, thinking.I finally understand why I'm called a grown up. I groan every time I get up.

Quote #2374

The silhouette of a man kneeling by a pond praying in the early morning sun."Prayer is the only entryway into genuine self-knowledge. It is also the main way we experience deep change - the reordering of our lives. Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things He has for us. Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we most desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life. We must learn to pray. We have to."

Early Rising

A sleeping cat under a fluffy duvet cover with only its face peeking out.Helen and Amanda were discussing their busy schedules.

Helen said, "Amanda, I must ask you something. Every day I feel incredibly run down and tired. And yet, I see you looking as fresh as a rose. I have to know: what's your secret?"

"My secret? Every morning, without fail, I wake up at six o'clock sharp."

"You wake up at six o'clock?"

"Yes, and then I look at the clock, see what time it is, and go back to sleep for another four hours."

I Am Amazed

Barn swallow sitting on a branch with a blurred background.- photo by Susan PageAre you ever amazed by the truth that God knows how many hairs are on your head? Perhaps if you have lost your crowning glory, this truth doesn’t pack a punch, but all kidding aside, we need to reflect deeply on this Scripture:

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-31).

One might ask, does God know when one little bird falls to the ground? This truth is hard to absorb because it’s just so amazing!
