Thank you to everyone who has sent in suggestions to name the different web hosting packages being set up to offer through Cybersalt - especially the zany ones that made me laugh. Hopefully I'll get a sign to know which one to chose!

Speaking of signs, there is a new Funny Sign Picture on the Cybersalt site today.  You'll find "Tanks and Pools" at:

Trust

classAs a new school Principal, Mr. Mitchell was checking over his school on the first day. Passing the stockroom, he was startled to see the door wide open and teachers bustling in and out, carrying off books and supplies in preparation for the arrival of students the next day.

The school where he had been a Principal the previous year had used a check-out system only slightly less elaborate than that at Fort Knox.

Cautiously, he asked the school's long time Custodian, "Do you think it's wise to keep the stock room unlocked and to let the teachers take things without requisitions?"

The Custodian looked at him gravely. "We trust them with the children, don't we?"

Cybersalt News

Today's edition of the Cybersalt Digest is issue #4000!  I know, I agree: "Get a life!"

Actually, since I've begun my 2015 revival of many things Cybersalt, I've been reminded of how much I enjoy working on the site and how wonderful it is to hear from Cybersaltines from around the world. Again, thank you all for being part of it.

Speaking of which, I'd appreciate your your suggestions for part of the next aspect of Cybersalt that is being brought online - web hosting. The Cybersalt servers already host a number of web sites and I'm looking to expand upon that.  However, before doing so I need to name the different web hosting packages that are going to be offered.  I'm looking for 4 or 5 nouns that are related by theme or subject, escalate in hierarchy, and communicate a degree of quality. For example, here are a few ideas I've already panned:

  • Cedar, Pine, Birch, Oak, Mahogany
  • Vanilla, Maple, Strawberry, Chocolate, Bacon
  • Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn, Uranus
  • This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home, etc., etc., etc.

See why I need your help?  Send your suggestions to webmaster@cybersalt.org or put them at the top of a reply to today's newsletter mailing. If your suggestion is chosen by my esteemed panel of judges (which includes not one but TWO court appointed doctors) there will definitely be some Cybersalt love coming your way.

Oh, and before I forget; there is a new funny dog picture on the Cybersalt site today.  You'll find "Dog Bees" at:

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing.

Found Keys

keys and remoteOn Friday I had mentioned that my keys, all of them (car, apartment and church keys) had gone missing. There were 2 electronic key fobs, and keys that would not have been easy to replace that promised me no end of irritation and expense.

I have been asking the Lord (rather sheepishly) to help me find them. But I had planned on beginning the process of replacing them on Monday. Today, after our church service in Chinatown was over, I moved over to our other building to join our Lunch Fellowship small group. On the way over, I noticed an older man who appeared like so many others I have seen walking by. Unkempt, unshaven and talking to himself. As I passed by him I heard him muttering something like “found some keys”. The words didn’t register in my head until after I entered the building. When the words hit me, I jumped back outside the door, hoping the man was still there, and he was. I quickly got his attention and asked him, “Did you just say you found some keys?”

“Yes, I did,” he responded.

“Do you have them on you? Can I see them?”

“Umm, they’re at home. I left them there. But I can get them. I live only ½ block from here.”

Off he went, and came back shortly thereafter with all of my keys. He had found them on the sidewalk on Friday, and on Sunday, he just happened to pass by, muttering that he had found some keys and out of a couple of hundred people milling around inside and outside of our church, I “happened” to be out there at exactly the right time to hear him mutter.

I told him that he had been sent by God and was an answer to prayer, and he went on his way encouraged, and I praised God for another answer to prayer.

catmelonhead150x127.jpgOver the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.

And so, whether you are a cat lover or tolerator, we hope you enjoy these funny cat pictures. And, of course, if you have any funny cat pictures you want to share with the world, feel free to send them to us to post here.

dog_maggie.jpgSome say the world can be divided into two types - cat people and dog people. For the cat people of the planet, Cybersalt has the Funny Cat Archive. For the dog people we have this Funny Dog Pictures archive.

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
