chicken on eggOh look, Chicken Thursday!

If you follow my YouTube channel where I teach how to use and maintain a website built in Joomla (https://www.youtube.com/user/basicjoomla) you will recognize the name of a regular on the channel, Vinny Hebert. This week, Vinny launched his "I love Old Time Radio" website. It's a really entertaining site! While I've been putting together this mailing, I've been laughing out loud listening to an episode of "My Friend Irma." Check it out at:

Goober Loot

If you are wondering what a goober is, you can see one here.

money suitcaseTwo goobers, Bob and Joe, decided to rob a bank and all they get away with are two sacks, so they keep one each.

After a while, they meet again and Bob asks Joe, "What did you find in your sack?"

"Half a million dollars, so I bought a house," replied Joe. "How about your sack?"

Bob replied, "Bah... it was full o' bills. Little by little, I'm paying them off."

Honest Teenager

man oldA teenage girl had just been given family-car privileges. One Friday night she returned home very late from a party.

The next morning her father went out to the driveway to get the newspaper and came back into the house frowning. At 11:30 the girl sleepily walked into the kitchen, and her father asked her, "What time did you get in last night?"

"Not too late, Dad," she replied nervously.

Dead-panned, her father said, "Then I'll have to talk to the paperboy about putting my paper under the front tire of the car."

Cybersalt News

20th anniversarySunday greetings everyone!

I've been so busy hanging wallpaper with my one arm that I totally forgot that this past Friday, September 28th, was the 20th Anniversary of Cybersalt!

Some day I hope to tell the whole story of how Cybersalt came to be, but for now let me simply say how thankful I am to God and you all for the many different blessings that Cybersalt has been to me and my family down through the years. What semi-started out as a joke list for my family - as an experiment with a list sending website in order to see if it would be a tool for ministry use - has shifted and morphed into things I could never imagine.

The most recent, and perhaps greatest, shift is that Cybersalt has become key to Mrs. Cybersalt's and my work with refugees and persecuted Christians. Most of you are already aware of the Be a Billionaire fund raiser that has been helping some who have found themselves in between and rock and rock (without even the comfort of a hard place). That very stretching idea came from list member Mark Robinson and you can still participate in it at www.cybersalt.org/inspiration/be-a-billionaire-fund-raiser. Recently, Mark suggested there might some interested in helping on a monthly basis. I'd like to know what you think about that idea? Drop an email to tim@cybersalt.org and let me know. After all, why should Mark get all the fun stretching me, lol!

In the meantime, thank you again for being a part of the wonderful mystery that is this part of my life.

And as usual, today on the Cybersalt site there is a new devotional commentary by Rev. James Snyder. I am guessing that this week he was dressed for the South Pole, not the prayer pole he was standing at. You can read, "If This Is Autumn, What Was Summer?" at:

Rifle Tech Support

rifle rangeIt was decided at Microsoft, during a brilliant brainstorming session, that military service would improve the skills and discipline of their finest technician. So off to boot camp he went.

At the rifle range, he was given some instruction, a rifle, and bullets. He fired several shots at the target.

The report came from the target area that all attempts had completely missed the target.

The Microsoft tech looked at his rifle and then at the target again. "Hmmm," he thought, "I'll get to the bottom of this in no time." He looked at the rifle again, and then at the target again. He pointed his still loaded rifle at the ground in front of him and fired.

A cloud of dust kicked up, and a little dimple was left there in the dust.

"Yep, it's working," he concluded.

The technician yelled out to the others at the target end, "The rifle is in working order, and the bullet seems to be leaving this end just fine. The trouble must be at your end!"

Honesty

form manServing as a Marine recruiter in western North Carolina, I found a young man who met all the requirements and was ready to enlist. I explained the importance of being truthful in the application, and he began filling out his paperwork.

But when he got to the question "Do you own any foreign property or have any foreign financial interests?" he looked up at me with a worried expression. "Well," he confessed, "I do own a Toyota."

We enlisted him the next day.

catmelonhead150x127.jpgOver the years, some of the most popular pages on the Cybersalt site have featured Funny Cat Pictures. We have to admit that even though cats often look at humans like they owe the feline world something (remember dogs have owners and cats have staff), cats aren't as bad as a lot of the press that they get.

And so, whether you are a cat lover or tolerator, we hope you enjoy these funny cat pictures. And, of course, if you have any funny cat pictures you want to share with the world, feel free to send them to us to post here.

dog_maggie.jpgSome say the world can be divided into two types - cat people and dog people. For the cat people of the planet, Cybersalt has the Funny Cat Archive. For the dog people we have this Funny Dog Pictures archive.

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
