Grandma Cybersalt and I are off to a granddaughter's school Christmas pageant. Usually the lights are turned down in the gymnasium and she has a hard time finding us in the audience. But this year Susan and I will be wearing our matching reindeer sweaters with LED lights!

People with religious authority often wound us with their words, attitudes, and demands. …There is such an enormous hunger for meaning in life, for comfort and consolation, for forgiveness and reconciliation, for restoration and healing, that anyone who has any authority in the Church should constantly be reminded that the best word to characterize religious authority is compassion. Let’s keep looking at Jesus, whose authority was expressed in compassion.”

It's dedicated to the memory of Maggie - Pastor Tim and family's dog. The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
