Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
Our 12 year-old grandson's 2 week visit with us has come to an end - he might actually still be flying home on his red-eye flight while some of you are reading this. We had a very nice visit with him, A highlight of the last day was when Grandma Cybersalt's bike experienced a mechanical malfunction, resulting in her ending up on the ground at the local bike track. That may not sound like a "highlight" but other than a few scrapes and bruises (and needing a new helmet because it hit the ground pretty good instead of her head) she is OK. We are thankful the malfunction did not happen she was riding on the road there!

We received another good 24 hours of rain at Cybersalt World Headquarters. It has really helped with a couple of wildfires a couple of hours away from us.

We are in the midst of enjoying a 2 week long visit by our 12 year old grandson who flew across the country on his own to get here. The world just keeps getting fuller and fuller of things that remind me I am getting older!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
Yesterday, it rained at Cybersalt World Headquarters: the first rain we have had in quite a while. We actually received 7mm of rain in July, but I don't count that, so it's been almost 2 months. I made a point of going outside to smell the air as it began to fall because I knew my nose had forgotten what rain smelled like. Sometimes in life, one just has to stop and smell the roses - or what waters them!

If you attend a church that has a board of elders, today is a good day to tell them you appreciate them and to encourage them. Just do it, even if it seems to you like they don't do much because they are probably handling some important (maybe even difficult) situations in your church in a very quiet way!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
On Sunday I told you about the cake mishap that happened on Saturday at our youngest granddaughter's birthday party. I also told you that later on that same Sunday the plan was to have cupcakes at another birthday party (for another granddaughter) and that I would keep you posted.
The bag containing the cupcakes tipped over in the trunk of our car on the way to the party. They remained edible, but looked very different than the masterpieces they started out as.
