Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
I found out today that things are going to be very different for the business side of Cybersalt when September roles around. As you know, I've been enjoying having government funded university students working for me since the beginning of the year. It has been really great on a number of levels!
With summer ending, I was considering hiring some more in the fall, but learned this week that there was no more funding available until next year, maybe. Since I have been working to grow my business, and things are coming together nicelyin that area, I decided I would take the plunge and keep one of the students on staff, at full expense to the company. I spoke to him today to talk about what that might look like for both him and me, and that's when he told me he was taking a new co-op position in September. I am excited for this new opportunity for him. He is a student exploring all the possibilities of his future life and I knew some day he'd be moving on - but I am disappointed it is so soon!
In the midst of all of these happenings I keep wondering what my business coach would think of all this, but he has been in heaven for 2 weeks, so I am being careful to continue on in the things God had him teach me and I am also trying to emulate the faith principles he lived his life by.

I was laying in the backyard last night, picking weeds (not pushing daisies yet!), when my phone rang. It was Ray. Ray is an alcoholic.
The other day, Grandma Cybersalt sent me an email inviting me to a date: "Invitation: Septic Pump Out @ Thu Aug 4, 2022 8am - 12pm" Of course, I accepted right away because almost everything is better when I do it with Susan!
I attended a men's group trivia night at our church last night and while driving home afterward I noticed the line up was really short at the local Dairy Queen. We've been having some hot days around Cybersalt World Headquarters and last night was easily one of warmest evenings we will get all year, so when I got home I asked Grandma Cybersalt if she had already had dessert.
It's a somber, but grateful, week here at Cybersalt World Headquarters. God has taken back a precious gift he gave me 2 years ago. Alex Shane started out as a mentor and business coach and ended up a very close friend. He passed away on Tuesday night, leaving behind a legacy of many other lives that God touched through him. Blessed be the Name of God.
One of our granddaughters was over yesterday while her parents had a busy day getting ready for a family road trip they are about to leave on. On the agenda was the usual: pretty much whatever she wanted. This included laying on the grass under the trampoline, catching bugs, a walk to the nearby "zip-line" park, and helping to cook supper (I helped too by hunting down a chicken at Costco.)
Do you know what I struggle with managing? Bacn! No, that is not a typo for the word "bacon" (which my low-fat diet all but forbids me to eat) - I mean "bacn."
Back in the beginning of June, I mentioned a friend of mine in Pakistan was going to start writing some devotionals for the Cybersalt Site. I am happy to report that his first item is now up on the site. You will find a link to the full article, and his bio, below.
