We are in the midst of enjoying a 2 week long visit by our 12 year old grandson who flew across the country on his own to get here. The world just keeps getting fuller and fuller of things that remind me I am getting older!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
Yesterday, it rained at Cybersalt World Headquarters: the first rain we have had in quite a while. We actually received 7mm of rain in July, but I don't count that, so it's been almost 2 months. I made a point of going outside to smell the air as it began to fall because I knew my nose had forgotten what rain smelled like. Sometimes in life, one just has to stop and smell the roses - or what waters them!

If you attend a church that has a board of elders, today is a good day to tell them you appreciate them and to encourage them. Just do it, even if it seems to you like they don't do much because they are probably handling some important (maybe even difficult) situations in your church in a very quiet way!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
On Sunday I told you about the cake mishap that happened on Saturday at our youngest granddaughter's birthday party. I also told you that later on that same Sunday the plan was to have cupcakes at another birthday party (for another granddaughter) and that I would keep you posted.
The bag containing the cupcakes tipped over in the trunk of our car on the way to the party. They remained edible, but looked very different than the masterpieces they started out as.

Yesterday, we attended a birthday party for our youngest granddaughter. As her cake was being carried out by her older sister (complete with 2 lit candles on top) the top layer of the cake slid off onto her chest and then onto the ground of the campsite we were at. Needless to say, our singing of, "Happy Birthday" was interrupted as the candles were retrieved, reinserted, and relit in the bottom half of the cake that survived. It was a fun family moment without a tear shed. (I have video of the whole thing which I will share at a later date.)
Today, were are attending a birthday party for another granddaughter: I will keep you posted!
Today's video share is a look at something that recently happened on the Spotify UK Music Charts. A musical group that is completely AI generated (so not real) really made it to the top of the chart because real people were really listening to them/it - for real!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!
A few days ago, Grandma Cybersalt and I had a lovely lunch out with friends. On the way to the restaurant, my friend asked if I wanted his spare Starlink hardware to connect to Elon Musk's satellite internet service. At the same time, his wife, talking with Grandma Cybersalt in the back, made the same offer to her.
Grandma Cybersalt was asked if we needed the Starlink hardware, to which she replied, "No." However, my friend's question to me—"Did I want it?"—was a bit tougher to answer. I racked my brain for an excuse to say yes, but I ultimately realized it was an offer better left for someone who both wanted and needed it.
On the plus side, having said no to that may make it easier to say yes to the next thing that comes along that I want but don't need!
Today's video share looks at the most popular boy names between 1880 to 2020. We looks at girl names last week, so it's only fair!

Summer is chugging along here at Cybersalt World Headquarters. Even though I don't currently have a zero inbox, I am still encouraged because that non-zero state is due to the amount of work coming in and not from being behind (well, mostly, lol.)
Today's video share is one I shared 2 months ago because it relates to an news item that is currently getting a lot of attention. How would Jesus respond to the social media stoning of the couple whose adulterous relationship was revealed at the Coldplay concert? Two months ago, I preached from John 7:53-8:11: a passage that inspires me to act differently than so much of what we are seeing online.
