Some of you will remember that the last time I was back east visiting my parents, I badly sprained my ankle, which led to a lot of pain, recovery time, and lingering side effects in my feet.
Just before that injury, Susan and I had gone for a walk around the block in the rural area where my parents live. During some of the most painful times afterward—when I was struggling with mobility and even simple movement around the house—I found myself thinking back to that walk. I was amazed that something so effortless had suddenly become so difficult. I longed for the ability to simply put my shoes on and go for a pain free walk again, and I wondered if I would ever get back to that point.
Well, I’ve just returned from visiting my parents again, in a place much colder and snowier than here on Vancouver Island, where Cybersalt headquarters is located. One day, when the temperature rose above freezing and the sun came out, I was excited to lace up my shoes and head out for that same walk around the block.
As I walked, I found myself deeply grateful to God, praising Jesus that I had come through that difficult season and was now almost back to normal.
