Singing GirlOh look, Chicken Thursday!

I had to go for some bloodwork and an x-ray on my foot yesterday afternoon and hoped to squeeze in a haircut afterwards - if there was time. I had blocked out two hours to hopefully get the medical stuff done, which would involve lining up in two different places in the same building. I suspected that it was going to be more like two and a half hours and I was ready to miss out on my haircut.

When I got to the x-ray department I was pleased to discover that there was only one person ahead of me. Ten minutes later my feet, tanned and tingling from the radiation, were taking me upstairs to get the other test done.

When I walked into the lab I was amazed to see 5 staff members sitting and hanging out amongst themselves in the reception area. There was nobody waiting. Just like that time Grandma Cybersalt was looking for someone to marry, I was number one! Ten minutes later I was on my way to the barbershop.

It got even better after that! When I pulled my shaggy self up to the barbershop, there was my barber, sitting reclined in his chair waiting for someone to show up. Once again, just like that time I was in a police lineup, I was number one!

So, all in all my afternon outing was pretty much obstacle free!

Speaking of obstacles, today's fun video share (there are actually 2 videos) shows some quirrels that are so nuts for nuts they won't let any obstacle stand in their way.

Sunday greetings everyone!

Chasing Ice - a Huge Glacier Calving EventI mentioned a few weeks back that Grandma Cybersalt and I have been enjoying watching the live stream of - and videos about - the new volcano in Iceland. It's really cool!

The great, big, huge machinations of God's creation remind me that as much as humans are created in the image of God, I am still very tiny and weak in the big scheme of things and that I need to remain humble and dependant upon Him. It's the same reminder I get from something as cool as a new volcano: old glaciers!

Which brings me to today's video share of an amazing glacier calving event that was cught on film back in 2008.

Singing GirlOh look, Chicken Thursday!

As you know, I've been sharing videos in the Sunday Cybersalt mailings, but I'm starting to collect a bumper crop of them so I am going to begin sharing some on Thursdays as well.

Some people would say this increase in videos is a sign of my devotion to you, my fellow Cybersaltines, and wanting to provide great content for your inspiration and entertainment. Others would say I watch too much Youtube!

Both are true, but I am not going to comment on which is more true. Actually, if two things are true they are equally true, so I guess I won't comment on which is more accurate.

Speaking of YouTube, the video I am sharing today is on FaceBook. The little girl in this video is how I want to be when I grow up!

Sunday greetings everyone, and Happy Mother's Day to all who are able to celebrate today.

spirit code by harold mcnabbLast week I mentioned that my good friend, Dr. Harold McNabb had published a book, entitled "Spirit Code."

Now, I suppose one would expect me to say it's a really good book because Harold is my friend. But let me tell you, it really is a good book! So far I have read almost half of it and am really enjoying it. I'm not a big reader, but I bought a copy in order to be supportive as any good friend should be. And of course I have to actually read it because eventually Harold is going to ask me what I thought of it. Harold knows me well, so saying, "My favorite part was when the guy did that thing and it looked like it wasn't going to work but then that surprising twist happened that nobody could have seen coming" would not work on him.

The book is so good that as I read it I keep forgetting I know who wrote it! I can hardly wait for Harold to ask me what I think of the book so I can tell him that! Lol, that's the kind of friends we are!

You can order a digital version of the book through this link:

Today's video share is an inspiring one that reminded me to not complain about the little things that bug me.

Lizard ThursdayOh look, Chicken Thursday!

Thank you, everyone, for your patience and kind words after last Thursday's mailing was skipped due to the pain in my right foot. I'll be honest, "Arthur" really delivered on his latest visit. My foot is still not completely right - though it still is completely right!

Speaking of things that aren't right, as you can see from the picture on the right I changed my beard style to the "Monkey Tail" yesterday. Last year, weeks into the pandemic, I let my beard grow in with the plan being to shave it when I was vaccinated and the pandemic was over. Of course, we know now that pandemics don't stop on a dime like that, so I changed my beard-shaving-timing to 3 weeks after I got my first shot; when my body's immune response had started to kick in. Yesterday was the day, but a few months ago I had seen pictures of the monkey tail beard online and thought I'd make that stop along the way.

The truth is, from time to time I change my facial hair for a bit of mental health fun and maintenance. A change in beardom can be a great way to break up boredom, or to even help with a mental burden. It's like putting a new layer of icing on a tier of cake before moving on to the next level. It is no different than how some people dye their, switch up the furniture placement in a commonly used room, or change their name and move to a country where they don't speech the language. Pro-tip: don't try the monkey tail beard and moving to a different country at the same time!

Now, back to where we should have been last week!

Two weeks ago I commented on how Lynne T. was so pained, but delightfully polite, in correcting my misuse of the word "vile" instead of "vial." Quite intentionally, and just for fun, I concluded with this grammatically horrific apology to Lynne:

I mostly apologize for making that mistake that drove you up the wall, down under. I'm not like those people who make mistakes and then say it wasn't there fault. Its something I am aware of and will definitely keep working on. ;-)

To my delight, many of you were quick to notice that I used "there" instead of "their" along the way. I assure you that this was entirely intentional, with my tongue deeply in cheek. It gave me great joy when some of you actually thought it was another mistake I had not noticed.

However, I was filled with both joy and glee at the fact that everybody was so shocked by my misuse of "there" that nobody even noticed that two words later I intentionally used the wrong "its!"

Thank you, thankyou, thank-you for all the happiness you bring by interacting with with this middle-aged, monkey-tail faced grandfather!

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing.
