Sunday greetings, everyone.
I was laying in the backyard last night, picking weeds (not pushing daisies yet!), when my phone rang. It was Ray. Ray is an alcoholic.
I hadn't heard from Ray in over a year, but as I answered the phone I groaned inside and prepared myself for another one of those calls where he, being well into a number of beers, would sloppily tell me what a f^%k up he was and how after the weekend he was going to quit drinking.
But this call was different. Ray was actually calling to catch up and to tell me that he was 8 months sober! What a nice change from the usual script since I first met him 15 years or so ago!
Ray's life story is a hard one, partly due to decisions made by others that affected his childhood and partly due to decisions he's repeatedly made to try and cope. For those of you struggling with addiction in your life, don't give up! If Ray can be sober for 8 months, you can be too!
Today's video share is a gripping one. Angela Loucks Alexander has a powerful story an some interesting facts and she communicates them very clearly! "Escaping the Hidden Prison of Auditory Processing Disorder" is a powerful presentation!

The other day, Grandma Cybersalt sent me an email inviting me to a date: "Invitation: Septic Pump Out @ Thu Aug 4, 2022 8am - 12pm" Of course, I accepted right away because almost everything is better when I do it with Susan!
I attended a men's group trivia night at our church last night and while driving home afterward I noticed the line up was really short at the local Dairy Queen. We've been having some hot days around Cybersalt World Headquarters and last night was easily one of warmest evenings we will get all year, so when I got home I asked Grandma Cybersalt if she had already had dessert.
It's a somber, but grateful, week here at Cybersalt World Headquarters. God has taken back a precious gift he gave me 2 years ago. Alex Shane started out as a mentor and business coach and ended up a very close friend. He passed away on Tuesday night, leaving behind a legacy of many other lives that God touched through him. Blessed be the Name of God.
One of our granddaughters was over yesterday while her parents had a busy day getting ready for a family road trip they are about to leave on. On the agenda was the usual: pretty much whatever she wanted. This included laying on the grass under the trampoline, catching bugs, a walk to the nearby "zip-line" park, and helping to cook supper (I helped too by hunting down a chicken at Costco.)
