Sunday greetings everyone!

If you live in a part of the world that turned the clocks forward one hour this morning, you have something in common with me today. However, there’s also something unique about the time change that took place at Cybersalt World Headquarters.

My province, British Columbia, has decided that today is the last time we will change our clocks. They’ve essentially created a brand new time zone just for us (right now.) So later on in the autumn, when many of you change your clocks back an hour, we will not be touching ours.

It will be very interesting to see what this is like when that time comes and the days start getting shorter. I’m not particularly looking forward to how much this whole thing is going to be talked about, debated, analyzed, and explained on the news… but it will certainly be another fun and interesting adventure to experience.

Time will tell - and ours will be staying still when it does!

Enjoy the rest of today's Digest.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Grandma Cybersalt is back! I picked her up from the airport on Monday, and she was very happy to trade winter weather for Victoria's spring. As mentioned before, I worked hard to keep the house tidy while she was away, and I think I succeeded — when she walked in, she looked around and asked, "Does anyone live here?" I'll take that as a win! Now I just have to brace myself for when she sees my nine day hotel bill on the next credit card statement.

Sunday greetings everyone!

Today is an exciting day at Cybersalt World Headquarters as another science experiment comes to an end — namely, seeing if I could keep myself alive for a full week on my own.

Tomorrow afternoon, I get to head to the airport to pick up Grandma Cybersalt, who has been back east helping care for our grandson while his parents were on a mission trip. I was there for the first part of that visit, but after spending time with my parents, I flew home to work and keep things running here.

I’m actually quite proud of myself. I’ve put a lot of effort into keeping the house clean instead of being lazy and leaving a huge mess to deal with at the last minute while rushing out the door for the airport. So, good news all around!

Sunday greetings everyone!a walk in the winter

Some of you will remember that the last time I was back east visiting my parents, I badly sprained my ankle, which led to a lot of pain, recovery time, and lingering side effects in my feet.

Just before that injury, Susan and I had gone for a walk around the block in the rural area where my parents live. During some of the most painful times afterward—when I was struggling with mobility and even simple movement around the house—I found myself thinking back to that walk. I was amazed that something so effortless had suddenly become so difficult. I longed for the ability to simply put my shoes on and go for a pain free walk again, and I wondered if I would ever get back to that point.

Well, I’ve just returned from visiting my parents again, in a place much colder and snowier than here on Vancouver Island, where Cybersalt headquarters is located. One day, when the temperature rose above freezing and the sun came out, I was excited to lace up my shoes and head out for that same walk around the block.

As I walked, I found myself deeply grateful to God, praising Jesus that I had come through that difficult season and was now almost back to normal.
