"I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every
prayer of mine for you all making request with joy for your fellowship
in the Gospel of this very thing that He which hath begun a good work
in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ; even as it is
meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart."
- Philippians 1:3-7
In the opening verses of his Letter to the congregation at Philippi,
Paul gives expression to the loving regard in which he held the members
of this church. He thanked God whenever he recalled the fellowship in
the Gospel which he enjoyed at Philippi. He assured them that they were
always in his prayers and in his heart.
Christian friends, Can your pastor say as . . .

Christian friends, Can your pastor say as much about your congregation? Can he say that you love the Word and the Sacraments, and use them diligently; that you support the Church, and its mission. Can he give you the testimony that you glorify Christ with your lives? Can he thank God as he thinks of what you have contributed of your time and talents to be building of the Kingdom of God among you?
It is my joy in life to find
At every turning of the road,
The strong arms of a pastor so kind,
To help me onward with my load.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The conversion of a soul is the miracle of a moment; the growth of a saint is the work of a lifetime.
