Sunday greetings everyone!

This week the premier of our province called a snap election for October 24th - you know because nothing else big is going on right now, lol.

But seriously, what a grind we are all living in right now as thing upon thing upon thing lands on our plate. And there's no guarantee that there aren't more surprises lurking around some next moment yet to happen. 

Today's video share features a song that reminds us to look up at the stars in times of confusion and fear, and remember we are being kept by the One who loves us more than the stars in His hands. These are beautiful words sung beautifully.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Welcome to autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and spring in the Southern. I am sure you "Southerners" are excited to get back outdoors after a long winter inside.

Here at Cybersalt World Headquarters we are already getting our first fall storm systems coming in off of the Northern Pacific. Grandma Cybersalt is getting ready to process a bumper crop of apples from the backyard. It's amazing how things grow when you water them during the summer!

BTW, do you know what I find is one of the greatest challenges of marking the change of the seasons and all these hemispherical references? It's properly capitalizing (or not) each term in different uses. I've tried my best - but not too much because I like to keep J. Pierce on his toes!

Today's video share is an example of how the perspective from which you look at something can really change your . . . . . . perspective on it.

Above water, Flamingos are beautiful. But under the water, they look and eat like a child's playtime vacuum or a dream you might have when you are fevered. I was pretty surprised to see what is really going on under there.

Now, ponder this for a minute. Imagine you had only ever experienced flamingos from the underwater perspective and then saw video of them above water for the first time. You'd probably be amazed that they were so graceful.

This is a reminder to me that I can experience other people or cultures over and over in a way that reinforces my limited perspective on them, while missing whole other truths and realities about them as a whole.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Today, for the first time in over 6 months, I had a business lunch with one of my clients. We met up at the local Denny's. Arriving at the parking lot, I put my mask on to walk from the car into the restaurant, used the hand sanitizer at the front door, and then proceeded to the booth where he was already seated. 

Once seated, I took my mask off and we caught up on our days, our lives, the faith in Jesus that we share, and then we checked out the menu. He, being in his 70s, told me he what he was going to order from the seniors' menu. I asked him what the senior age was at Denny's and he replied, "55."

And then it dawned on me again; in 7 weeks I am going to be a senior citizen!

This may explain why I often run into situations that make me think, "I'm too old for this!"

I'm not complaining because a lot of people and doctors have helped me get to the age I am and I am grateful. But there is nothing like a little context to keep things in perspective.
