I wonder… are these Your tears, O God
Shed for this world’s pain and brokenness?
How long, O Lord … how long?

Tears silently flow and gently fall
Each drop is collected in a bottle
God heals the brokenhearted
Mending the wounds for His glory

The scars that remain a part of our story
Hidden in our secret inner parts
These fractured, jagged, and broken pieces
Can be used to point others to Jesus

I would never have chosen this path
It is hard, the valleys are dark and deep
Yet, God knows every detail and cares deeply
He promised never to leave us alone

His presence brings comfort and peace
Through challenges comes empathy
Man of Sorrows, who bore our pain
May we humbly weep with those who weep

You are a God of mercy who bears our grief
Who sees our tears and knows our sorrow
Lord, may Your mercy flow like rain
Raindrops bring growth and beauty
... first, they must fall
