"There is nothing better for a man than that his soul should enjoy good in his labor."
- Ecclesiastes 2:24

Many Christians mistakenly think that pastoring a church, teaching Bible School, serving on a mission field are the only sacred occupations. The Christian's work is not divided into the sacred and the secular. Any employment not prohibited by God's Word can be done for His glory. The important consideration is not the job itself, but the attitude of the Christian in the place God has called him to fill.

Many people with so-called secular occupations are recorded in the Bible who continued in their calling, laboring faithfully. Gideon was a farmer; Paul, a tentmaker; Dorcas, a . . .

Many people with so-called secular occupations are recorded in the Bible who continued in their calling, laboring faithfully. Gideon was a farmer; Paul, a tentmaker; Dorcas, a seamstress; Moses, a shepherd; Luke, a doctor; Joseph, a statesman. I believe that if we had opportunity to know the entire work report we would find that each performed his task with zeal and enthusiasm.

Christian friends, do you watch how you work? Do you recognize that you have a Master in heaven to whom you are responsible? Do you glorify Him through your job? No matter what you do, do it heartily as to the LORD. As Christians we are told to work unto the Lord, Colossians. 3:23. So whatever we do, let's strive to finish every workday with the feeling of job well done.

      They who tread the path of labor
      Follow where Christ's feet have trod;
      They who work without complaining
      Do the holy will of God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - People may not remember how fast you did your work, but they will remember how WELL you did it.   GOD BLESS YOUR DAY
