Good Morning 02-07

"I am Jesus whom you are persecuting, now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
- Acts 9:5,6

Accepting Jesus as our Savior implies submitting to His lordship for the rest of our lives. The Bible says, "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved" Notice that the name "Jesus" which means savior, is preceded by the word "LORD" We are bought with a price, we belong to Him, and He has ownership right on our lives.

The conversion of Saul joins these two elements in an unmistakable unity. When Saul heard the voice from heaven on the road to Damascus, he immediately asked, "Who art Thou, LORD?" From the answer that came back, he realized that Jesus, whom he had been persecuting, was God. In that moment he had to make a crucial decision. He could either run and try to escape, or he could cast himself on His mercy. But if he did the latter, he knew he would have to give up his right to control his life and surrender to Christ. This is evident from a second question that flowed irrepressibly from his lips. Sensing he was in the presence of his Creator and Redeemer, he trembled as he said with astonishment."LORD, what wilt Thou have me to do? The issue of accepting Christ as Savior and as LORD was settled once and for all in his conversion experience.

Christian friends, Are you living under Christ's lordship? Your Christian experience isn't complete until you ask, "LORD, what will You have me to do?" and mean by it, "LORD, I will do whatever You ask. This text brings this song to mind--

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, LORD, to Thee;
Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The best way to know God's will is to say "I will" to God.
