Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Today's Chicken Thursday shoutout is to Heather P., who sent a bunch of chicken pictures. This one is of her daughter Kathleen with one of their flock - though to keep things light let's just say they don't have any chickens right now.

Thank you to everyone for your kind comments after I announced my upcoming retirement from Westside Bible Church. Some have wondered if I will be continuing on with Cybersalt. The simple and big answer to that is, "Yes!" and I'll have more to say about that in the near future.

What will be changing is the ministry focus that Susan and I will have. We will be working to help churches with the process of refugee sponsorship as well as helping individuals and churches support persecuted Christians overseas through Pakistan Evangelistic Ministries.

There was no Cybersalt Digest last Chicken Thursday because Wednesday (which is when we put the newsletter in the oven) was Grandma Cybersalt and my 31st anniversary. Plus, my best friend from childhood, his wife, and 4 of their kids are visiting with us from Back East, so needless to say things have been hopping around Cybersalt World Headquarters.

On Sundays, I often share with you the audio recording of my sermon from the previous weekend. However, today I have news to share with you.

On October 31, at the end of 21 years as pastor, I will be retiring from Westside Bible Church. In recent months, Susan and I have increasingly sensed God’s leading to pursue and develop ministry to refugees and persecuted Christians. At the same time, I have also increasingly sensed Westside’s need for someone with different strengths than me to serve as pastor.
