Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

dressage actGrandma Cybersalt and I get to go the the airport tonight to be part of a crowd of people welcoming some newcomers to Canada. Another refugee family is restarting their life and this family is going to be doing it in our community! This is all happening after the family had to flee their homeland many years ago because they took a stand for their faith in Jesus. The group sponsoring and supporting them in this new beginning has also worked and waited for over 3 years to make this possible. God will bless them all!

Grandma Cybersalt and I are back from our trip back East to visit with our daughter and her family, attend our nephew's wedding and then spend time with my mom, dad, and even more family. It was a very good time which also had its emotional challenges because my mother is in the early stages of dementia. That is especially hard on my Dad, so thank you for your prayers for him and us.

We also got to enjoy seeing the fall colours as we travelled about a 1,000 miles by car during the week. It was a grueling schedule at times, but the scenery helped make up for that. I came down with a bug on the day we were travelling home, and that has been a drag for the last couple of days, but I am grateful that I felt well for the duration of the visit.

I was amazed to see the craftsmanship that went into painting with gold and inlaying mother-of-pearly on this pillow. I can't imagine every actually using such a beautiful piece! That's why you will only see corduroy marks on my face after a good Sunday nap!

Royal Bay FogI went for a nice walk with Grandma Cybersalt yesterday, just as a fog was rolling in off the Salish Sea. I took this picture later on as it was rolling out at sunset. After a very lovely summer with a ton of nice days that were carbon copies of each other, it's nice to have some variety. Even the return of shorter days is a nice change.

Today's video share is from the old "Candid Camera" show. I enjoy these clips not only for their humour, but also because I remember as a kid how much my grandfather enjoyed that show.

Oh Look Chicken Thursday - and happy 25th anniversary to the Cybersalt Digest!

25th AnniversaryThat's right, today is the 15th anniversary of the sending out my first newsletter. That first edition went on September 28, 1998 through an email list I created and named "Pastor Tim's CleanLaugh List."

At that time the list was managed through onelist.com, which eventually was bought by YahooGroups. In time, I was unhappy with the lack of control I had over the type of ads that YahooGroups was inserting in my email, so I learned how to host and send out the newsletter on my own.

There is much more history and stories to tell you about how that first newsletter grew into the ministry and business that Cybersalt is today. Unfortunately my plan to put that all together has suffered from a surplus of good intentions and a deficit of time to do so. But, for now, let is suffice to say that I am grateful and thankful to Jesus for the huge blessing all things Cybersalt have been in my life, and for wonderful blessing you all have been as part of Cybersalt! Grandma Cybersalt and I appreciate every one of you!
