Cybersalt News

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

flash face effectGrandma Cybersalt was sick for a week, but she is over it now. I think I did pretty good taking care of her while she was under the weather: a testimony to all the things I have learned when she goes away for the weekend and I have to keep myself alive!

Today's video share has now sound, but if you follow the directions on screen you will get to see the "Flashed Face Distortion Effect!"

Murphy's Laws on Computers

A computer from the 1990s - off white, small square monitor and tall CPU with space for disks.- As soon as you delete a worthless file, you'll need it.

- Installing a new program will always mess up at least one old one.

- You can't win them all, but you sure can lose them all.

- The likelihood of a hard disk crash is in direct proportion to the value of the material that hasn't been backed up.

- There are only two kinds of computer users: Those whose hard disks have crashed, and those whose hard disks haven't crashed - yet.

- Anything can be made to work if you fiddle with it. If you fiddle with something long enough, you'll break it.

One-Liner #1907

A girl with shoulder length hair tucked behind one ear and a red sweater looking directly at us.My daughter told me there is a small get together at school on Friday.

I asked her, "How small?"

She replied, "Just you, me, and the principal."

Unforgettable Grandma👵📞

Smiling woman in a grassy field sitting in the sun and squinting with one eye.I still have my late grandmother in my contacts. We shouldn't have scattered her ashes on such a windy day.

Quote #2342

A dock going out into a glass-like lake in an early morning sunrise."In adversity we tend to doubt God's fatherly care, but in prosperity we tend to forget it. If we are to trust God, we must acknowledge our dependence upon him at all times, good times as well as bad times."

- Jerry Bridges

Helping the Lost

Two paramedics lifting a stretcher with a child strapped onto it.A troop of Boy Scouts was being used as "guinea pigs" in a test of emergency systems. A mock earthquake was staged, and the Scouts impersonated wounded persons who were to be picked up and cared for by the emergency units.

One Scout was supposed to lie on the ground and await his rescuers, but the first-aid people got behind schedule, and the Scout lay "wounded" for several hours.

When the first-aid squad arrived where the casualty was supposed to be, they found nothing but a brief note:

"Have bled to death and gone home."

Only in games and tests can we delay helping the lost.

Susan Page writes . . . .

Eyes on Jesus

A sign on green boards with yellow letters that reads, - photo by Susan PageA woman shared her experience of a time when her father was extremely ill. She was looking for answers that the medical community could not provide. Even though she felt God’s Spirit telling her to rest in Him, fix her eyes on Him, seek Him, and trust Him, she could not stop looking for a solution.

It’s human nature to want to know the answer, to try to correct or control a situation and make it right. Often, we scroll through websites, spending hours aimlessly searching, all the while becoming more anxious as we pursue a quick remedy to our problem.
