I'm Rusty Lord

I spent today on a job, doing things I haven't done in years. I haven't worked at a public job since my oldest child was 15 mos, because I chose to have my own business at home, and tend to my children at the same time. So, I found myself a little "rusty" at the skills it takes to be very fluent on the job. Oh, I have no insecurities, no doubt that I will be able to handle the job, but how much nicer it would have been to have had a little up-to-date training before being left half a day on a job I had never done, without anyone to assist me. :-) But those things happen in the 'real world'.

Honor Thy Father

Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

Our life begins with the union of a man and a woman, our earthly Father and Mother. Our earthly father figure we most come to know as Daddy. I was privileged to have a wonderful Daddy for the first forty eight years of my life. When my Daddy passed away, it was a very heart-breaking, sad day. He is no longer there for me to visit on Father's Day, but I thank the Lord that I was privileged to be able to "know" him all that time. I have those memories from the days spent with my Daddy to last me a lifetime. Not all are so well-blessed.

Power In That Name

Have you ever been in a tight spot where you needed someone immediately to help you out? Or have you been in situations where you thought nobody could possibly help you?

From life experiences we find who can and who can't help us in time of need. When we are sick, we tend to call on Mom, the nurse, the doctor, or maybe take a quick visit to the local emergency room. When we have car trouble, we call upon our local body shop to fix the problems, or we may be a 'fix-it-myself' type of person. But who do you call upon when you are in the process of having a wreck?

Become As A Little Child

Watching my grandchildren on the playground, I began to register the actions of the children playing. There were little ones ranging from age one to about age ten. They all seemed to be having a great time, the little ones following after the older ones, imitating them.
