"How can a man be born when he is old?" John 3:1-17
Nicodemus was one of the few Pharisees to be attracted by Jesus' teachings and miracles. During an earnest and intimate conversation with Nicodemus, Jesus made the statement: "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." Nicodemus could not understand Jesus' meaning and asked, "How can a man be born when he is old?"
But Jesus was speaking of a spiritual rebirth in which the unbeliever becomes a believer. He also went on to say, "Except a man be born of water and of the Holy Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. that which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." Natural man is flesh, sinful flesh, opposed to God and His will. But the reborn man, into whom the Spirit of God has entered by Baptism and the Word of God, is spirit. He is a new being, just as surely as the newborn child is a new being. He believes in God, whom first he rejected or doubted; loves God, whom before he hated; loves righteousness whereas he had loved sin. The difference is as great as between night and day or between black and white.
Christian friends, It is a glorious thought to know that we are believers, children of God, who love Him, trust Him, and serve Him. It is never too late for this glorious rebirth which makes us children of God. an infant can be reborn thought Baptism immediately after his natural birth; a man can be reborn when he is old, through the mercy of our wonderful God. "Behold, now is the accepted time; now is the day of salvation" 2 cor. 6:2
The Savior is waiting to save you And cleanse every sin-stain away; By faith you can know full forgiveness And be a new creature today.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Salvation is not reformation but transformation.
