"God so loved the world that He gave His only son."
- John 3:16
Almost each one of the little words in this petition of the LORD'S
Prayer has its own lesson to teach us. Take the word "give" When we
approach God, we do it with empty hands but with trusting hearts,
because we know Him as the God who gives good gifts to people. "He
makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on
the just and . . .
"God so loved the world that He gave His only son."
- John 3:16
Almost each one of the little words in this petition of the LORD'S Prayer has its own lesson to teach us. Take the word "give" When we approach God, we do it with empty hands but with trusting hearts, because we know Him as the God who gives good gifts to people. "He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matt. 5:45. so we pray humbly but confidently to our Father. We know that He gives; He gave His Son.
"Us" and "our" remind us that you cannot pray the LORD'S Prayer and even once say "I". When God calls us to be His children, He always calls us into fellowship with other people. Jesus earned salvation on the cross not only for me but for all, for: "God so love the World that He gave His only Son."
Christian friends, God's love extends to all of us, even to those who reject it and its benefits. So as Christians we always pray,"us" and "our" because God loves even the people we despise. God gives all to all.
For God so loved the world, He gave His only Son
To die on Calvary's tree, from sin to set me free;
Someday He's coming back, what glory that will be
Wonderful His love to me.
-THOUGHT FOR THE DAY-
Many give their lives for their country, but Jesus gave His life for the world.
