St. Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, was on his way to Rome to be
brought before Caesar. The vessel on which he was sailing was tossed to
and fro by a furious storm on the Mediterranean Sea. Those with Paul
had given up all hope. But the angel of the LORD appeared to Paul and
told him not to fear, for no one would be lost. And Paul, addressing
himself to all on board ship said: "There stood by me this night the
angel of God, whose I am and whom I serve."
In the persence of those rough and godless seafaring men and before his
fellow prisioners Paul confessed himself to be . . .

In the persence of those rough and godless seafaring men and before his fellow prisioners Paul confessed himself to be God's own and made his entire life a worshipful service to gratitude to Christ.
Christian friends, what a difference it makes when a person is thus motivated. When the Christian worker regards his work as a service to his LORD, he is filled with inspiration for his daily task, with joy in his arduous toil, and with strength in the consuming routine. He enjoys a richness and a fulness already in this life, a foretaste of the joyous service the saints will render unto Christ throughout the never-ending ages of eternity.
So send I you to labor unrewarded,
To serve unpaid, unloved, unsought, unknown,
To bear rebuke, to suffer scorn and scoffing
So send I you to toil for Me alone
