Only the all-knowing LORD knows what strength and what comfort have come to the hearts of His believing children through many centuries as they have read and prayed this 121st Psalm. It is a song of faith, lifting the vision above all earthly clouds to Him who is enthroned above the hills. It is a song of assurance: "My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." It is a word of benediction: "The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in." Times innumerable these words have been spoken by our pastors of Christ over infants in Baptism and over youths in confirmation. Through centuries Christian parents have laid this benediction upon their sons and daughters as they left home to go out into the world.
 
But the question persists in coming to us, Does the LORD really preserve us from all evil?  YES He does. What then shall we say to accidents, of injuries to the body, of . . .

But the question persists in coming to us, Does the LORD really preserve us from all evil?  YES He does. What then shall we say to accidents, of injuries to the body, of sudden deaths? (Some of you have asked in your emails). These apparent evils are converted by our merciful Father into blessings for His believing children. "All these things are against me," lamented the much-afflicted Patriarch Jacob. But "God meant it unto good." "All things work together for good to them that love God."
 
Christian friends, give thanks to God for watching over you all the day and nights of your life. Trust Him for your future. God protects us at all times, even when He decides to lead us home.
 
     My Father watches over me
     He eye is never dim;
     At morn, at noon, at twilight
     I safely trust in Him.
 
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Our greatest need cannot exceed our greatest resource--GOD!
