Gideon was puzzled when he was addressed by the Angel of the LORD. And
well he might be. The Israelites were crouching in dens and caves for
fear of the Midianites. He himself was threshing wheat in a hidden
place, so the Midianites would not make off with it. And what was
worse, the nation seemed hopelessly entangled in idolatry.
But the Angel meant exactly what He said. The key to His message is in
the words "The LORD is with thee." With God as his ally, Gideon was
equipped with ample power to accomplish his mission to free his
enslaved country.
Christian friends, this same strength is available to us. God has
promised: "As thy days, so shall thy strength be." When we face tasks
which . . .

Christian friends, this same strength is available to us. God has promised: "As thy days, so shall thy strength be." When we face tasks which threaten to break us down, we can, therefore, confidently face them as we say: "I can do all things through Christ, which strengtheneth me."
You may not be strongest or the greatest,
Your presence may not even count at all;
But when you put your trust in Jesus' power,
You are assured He'll never let you fall.
