"Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn." Matthew 13:30
The will of our Savior is that both weeds and wheat remain in the would until the harvest. This his Christians will have to suffer and endure, and the LORD will give them patience to do so. But the LORD also used this for good. The fact that His church grows and flourishes in the midst of the wicked world shows the great glory and power of our God. The daily temptations from the world serve to test our faith and make it strong. the wickedness of the world makes us long all the more for "the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."
By saying let both grow together, the LORD would by no means minimize the differences between wheat and weeds. The church has no business forcefully uprooting unbelievers from the world, but it remains very much the business of the church to testify to the truth and to be wheat: to produce fruit for the Savior. Having nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. You must no longer live as the Gentiles do. We are always to remember that we are a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor.
Christian friends, Let us ask the LORD to help us in relating to people who may be counterfeits. We must first know our own hearts so that we don't make false judgments about others. We need to be alert while waiting for God to make the final judgments.
Oft as the precioius seed is sown, Your quick'ning grace bestow, But all whose souls the truth receive, Its saving power may know.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Believe in the LORD Jesus, and you will be saved.
