Sunday greetings everyone!

The Cybersalt Digest has not gone out since August 5th, so I thought I better check in! Thank you to everyone who has asked if everything is OK.

For the most part, I try to keep my personal gloomy news out of the Digest because I want it to be a source of entertainment and encouragement for you all. After all, we all have trying times and need a break or escape from time to time - and sending out this newsletter is one of those things for me. However, it has been quite a month and that has affected the time and energy required to put mailings together. So I feel the freedom to let you know about this break in routine for me and you.

Back in July, a dear friend's battle with cancer took a turn for the worse and for a number of weeks, leading into early August, we lost her very slowly until she went to be with the Lord on the 4th. It was very hard to lose her, and also to watch her family experiencing a long good bye. Then, on August 5th, a good friend of mine passed away suddenly from what was suspected to be a heart attack or some other medical crisis. I conducted their memorial services on the 13th and 17th. Susan and I are both doing OK, but we certainly do feel drained emotionally at times - plus we have something else going on in our orbit that we cannot share with you, so your prayers for us are appreciated.

At the same time, we have been enjoying lots of family time as our daughter, son-in-law, and grandson have been with us for an extended visit until the 2nd of September. Together, with our other kids and their families we've been having lots of fun, enjoying being together, and taking some vacation time from work. This has definitely also eaten into our Cybersalt prep time.

Also, tomorrow is our 35th wedding anniversary, so there is also lots to celebrate in this packed season we are experiencing!

Today's video share is one that gave me a great laugh and lighthearted moment yesterday. We all need moments like that from time to time!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

The big news around Cybersalt World Headquarters is that our daughter and grandson are arriving today for a 4 week visit. Her husband will be flying out later this month. We hope that for the first time in a couple of years our whole family will be together in one place.

Susan and I started out as 2, then our family was 5, and now with in-laws and grandchildren there are 13! It warms our heart. Do you know what else could warm our hearts? Microwaves!

Today's video share is another one with whales. I really enjoyed watching this a few weeks ago. The fact that it was shot in Antarctica was a bonus for me!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

In last Sunday's mailing, the video share was of an amazing Oboe performance - apparently not! It was an amazing performance, but the instrument being played was actually a clarinet. Thanks to G. Taylor and J. Westberg for catching that!

Now, if you are a recent subscriber, you may have wondered how I could be so dumb as to not know the difference between and oboe and a clarinet. If you are not a subscriber, you stopped wondering about me a long time ago and have stuck around simply out of morbid curiosity about what I will misidentify next!

To be fair, I first saw that video on Facebook, where it was described as an oboe performance. It's getting pretty bad when you can't even trust Facebook to be accurate!

Today's video share is fun race between some different animals. However, after this whole oboe/clarinet debacle, I'm not sure all of these are real animals. You be the judge.
