First Sunday of advent greetings everyone.
Today's mailing is an abbreviated one after spending a wonderful day with friends from across the pond - in this case they live 17 miles away on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State.
Today, Rev. James Snyder is talking about his wife's Christmas Shopping plans - though he is remaining silent at the same time. You can read "The Only Contest I Really Win Each Year" at:

Sunday greetings everyone - and since this is the last mailing going out before US Thanksgiving - Happy Thanksgiving to our American subscribers.
With US Thanksgiving coming up, today's news is supersized for your holiday enjoyment.
First of all, it's a good thing Rev. James Snyder likes Turkey because his wife is cooking three of them! You can read "Thanksgiving Quandry: Roast Turkey or Lame Duck" at:
www.cybersalt.org/gods-penman/thanksgiving-quandry-roast-turkey-or-lame-duck
If you are looking for a bit of change from your traditional Thanksgiving turkey, why not try a "Turkraken?" As for me and my house, I'll pass and I bet you care to join me once see "Turkey Stuffing" at:
www.cybersalt.org/funny-pictures/turkey-stuffing
And of course whatever you eat you will probably need to slice it up. Why not use a waterjet like in the video "Cutting a Turkey with a Waterjet" at:
www.cybersalt.org/funblog/cutting-a-turkey-with-a-waterjet
Finally, did you know that even though Canadian Thanksgiving takes place in early October, Thanksgiving sermons from then are still fresh and applicable at the end of November? You'll find audio recordings of 11 sermons on Thanksgiving and being thankful at:

Hello Cybersaltines,
A couple of months ago I let you know that mailings of the Cybersalt Digest and PearlyGates Newsletter were being cut back to twice and once a week (respectively) while I worked on some projects. One of those projects is now complete and I’d like to share it with you.
Cybersalt has partnered with Philip Emandar (name changed for security reasons) of Pakistan to begin Pakistan Evangelistic Ministries. Pakistan is one of the top countries in the world where Christians are persecuted. In fact, Open Doors ranks Pakistan 6th in the world at 87/100 or extreme - tied with 5th place Syria.
I invite you to find out more about this ministry by visiting www.pakistanevangelisticministries.org, or by reading more below. I’d also like to invite you to be a part of this ministry by joining our prayer list as those serving do so regularly at great risk to their lives and the lives of their families.
Pakistan Evangelistic Ministries' primary focus is a school begun for students who wished to study evangelism and Christian service but did not have the financial means to do so. The initial group of young men who sought out this training has now grown to include men and women and has expanded to include programs for young people and children.
PEM is also very active in supporting "off campus" meetings in different communities. These meetings have been, but are not limited to, youth rallies, training events for pastors, tent meetings, and gatherings of persecuted Christians for encouragement and training as they risk their lives by living for Jesus.
PEM also desires to assist persecuted Christians within Pakistan and Pakistani Christians who have fled to other countries as refugees (this BBC story reveals their plight). As we grow, we hope to increasingly help the emotional and physical needs of our brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives are an example of faith to believers everywhere.
It is an honor to stand with and for these brothers and sisters in Christ. I pray that God is glorified and his saints blessed – both in Pakistan and wherever this finds you – as He provides in this endeavor for Christ.
