Perhaps you've seen people in the church pew next to you, and wondered why they are there. Perhaps for you its quicker to judge that person than it is to see the face of Christ in them. Walking the path of Christ is rather easy, when you realize we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord.
There's an old irish song that talks about a "little bit of heaven".. Well, that little bit of heaven is here on Earth, and its how we treat our fellow man, how we treat our kids, how we treat our spouses, in fact any relationship we have with another human being.
For when all is said and done Jesus will not ask us about how successful we are, nor how many material possesions we have . . He'll ask how did we love our neighbor, and how did we show that ??
There's an amazing story told by Archbishop Fulton Sheen . A young woman is telling people in the church that she does not believe in God, that she's an atheist. To which Archbishop Fulton Sheen replies to her " I thank you for believing in God". The woman denies this . The Archbishop's come-back ?? "In order to be an atheist, you have to have something to atheiate against" !
Whcih is a sad part of theis society we live in. In order to be a Christian, you have to walk the path no one else does. But perservere ! B e joyful ! That last moment , just before your earthly death, is the beginning of a most incredible time, when Jesus can say to you, "Well done, good and faithful servant, come and share in the kingdom".
