We all chuckle at not keeping New Year’s Resolutions but as you’ll see from some of these, a lack of self-control can really hurt you.

Here’s a look at someone’s New Year’s resolutions down through the years.

RESOLUTION #1:

2007: I will read at least 20 good books a year.

2008: I will read at least 10 books a year.

2009: I will read 5 books a year.

2010: I will finish The Pelican Brief

2011: I will read some articles in the newspaper this year.

“I said to the man who stood at the gate of the Year "Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown."

And he replied: "Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light, and safer than a known way."

Don't be content with the temporary emotion that comes with the hearing of God's promises.  Invest yourself in trusting in God's word.

Love: give it to others unconditionally just as God has given it to you.
