golf surprised groundskeeperI was playing 9 holes at Forest Park in St. Louis with my father, when I made an unbelievable shot that landed about three feet from the hole.

However, I hadn't noticed that there was a greenskeeper who was also about 3 feet from the hole. He jumped back, and I was as startled as he was.

Not sure what to do, I hit another ball, pretending not to know about the first one.

The greenskeeper didn't figure out who hit the ball that almost beaned him, and we moved quickly on to the next tee.

It wasn't the honest and courageous thing to do, but being just a kid was my excuse.

Now that I'm older and more mature, honest and courageous, I probably would act differently.

I'm not sure exactly how, but . . .
