Sunday greetings everyone!
There was a time not too long ago when I was often tired during the day because I'd stayed up too late trying to catch up on work. This past week I was tired again — but for a completely different reason. I've been losing sleep because I'm so excited about a project I'm working on. Not great to be tired either way, but it's a lot more fun to be tired because you can't stop working on something exciting!
I'll fill you in with more details when I'm done, but I'm developing a new software product — and part of what makes it so exciting is that AI has opened a door I didn't have before. I'm actually able to code and build things that work the way I think they should, instead of being confined to whatever tools happen to be available. I'm really enjoying myself!
Today's video share gave me a fresh perspective I hadn't considered before. When I read the Gospels, I tend to zoom in tightly on Israel — the crowds, the disciples, the religious leaders — and forget that the rest of the world didn't pause while Jesus walked the earth. Civilizations were rising and falling, people were living their lives, and the vast majority of people on earth had absolutely no idea that God had stepped into human history in a human body.

Goober Ice Fishing
A goober wanted to go ice fishing. He'd seen many books on the subject, and finally, after getting all the necessary "tools" together, he made for the nearest frozen lake.
After positioning his comfy footstool, he started to make a circular cut in the ice. Suddenly, from the sky, a voice boomed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE!"
Startled, the goober moved further down the ice, poured a thermos of cappuccino, and began to cut yet another hole.
Again, from the heavens, the voice bellowed, "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE!"
The goober, now quite worried, moved way down to the opposite end of the ice, set up his stool, and tried again to cut a hole. The voice came once more. "THERE ARE NO FISH UNDER THE ICE!"
He stopped, looked skyward, and said, "Is that you, Lord?"
The voice replied, "NO. THIS IS THE MANAGER OF THE ICE RINK!"

52 Bible Verses for Men Week 8: Training the Body, Training the Soul
Hello friends, welcome back. This is episode 8 of my challenge to write 52 songs this year based on the little book *52 Bible Verses forMen* by Samuel Duth. Today I'm exploring the eighth verse in the series: 1 Timothy 4:8.![]()
The verse says, "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both this life and the life to come."
The ESV puts it this way: "For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe."

Years ago a farmer owned land along the Atlantic seacoast. He constantly advertised for hired hands. Most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic. They dreaded the awful storms that raged across the Atlantic, wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops. As the farmer interviewed applicants for the job, he received a steady stream of refusals.
Finally, a short, thin man, well past middle age, approached the farmer.
"Are you a good farmhand?" the farmer asked him.
"Well, I can sleep when the wind blows," answered the little man.
Although puzzled by this answer, the farmer, desperate for help, hired him.
The little man worked well around the farm, busy from dawn to dusk, and the farmer felt satisfied with the man's work.
Then one night the wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed next door to the hired hand's sleeping quarters. He shook the little man and yelled, "Get up! A storm is coming! Tie things down before they blow away!" The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No sir. I told you, I can sleep when the wind blows."
Enraged by the response, the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot. Instead, he hurried outside to prepare for the storm.
To his amazement, he discovered that all of the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins. The cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. The shutters were tightly secured. Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away.
The farmer then understood what his hired hand meant, so he returned to his bed to also sleep while the wind blew.
When you're prepared, spiritually, mentally, and physically, you have nothing to fear. Can you sleep when the wind blows through your life? The hired hand in the story was able to sleep because he had secured the farm against the storm. We, as believers in Christ, secure ourselves against the storms of life by grounding ourselves in the Word of God. We don't need to understand, we just need to hold His hand to have peace in the midst of the storms. I hope you sleep well!

Just Honing My "Old Goat" Skills
I'm rather new to this "getting old" stage of life. Up to now, all my life has been young and innocent. Unfortunately, those days have passed.
It's hard to get adjusted to old age because I've never experienced it before. I remember when I was young, all of the fun that I had. But now, I'm at a new stage of life, and I don't know exactly what I should be doing.
Somebody should write a book sometime titled, "How To Get Old in 10 Easy Steps." I'll buy that book in a second.
