Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Nebraska town celebrates world's biggest time capsule after 50 yearsI think I mentioned in the past that we're getting a dog park next to Cybersalt World Headquarters. Well today they started working on it. What we've enjoyed for years as just a nice vacant park — grasses, wildflowers, quietly returned to nature — will soon be an exercise area for the dogs of the community. It was super windy while they were digging today, with dust blowing across our yard, so we kept the windows shut and let the heat pumps handle the cooling. As for the dog park coming in? I'm keeping cool about that too.

Today's video share is about a fellow who wanted to leave some happiness and joy for people in the future, so he buried a time capsule. It didn't get dug up this July 4th, but that doesn't really make a difference — and I've always thought Vegas were pretty cool cars.

Canine Complex

A young man in a short-sleeved red & brown checked shirt, hands on the back of his head looking alarmed.A man walked into the office of the eminent psychiatrist Dr. Heidberg, and sat down to explain his problem.

"Doctor, doctor! I've got this problem," the man said. "I keep hallucinating that I'm a dog. It's crazy. I don't know what to do!"

"A common canine complex," said the doctor soothingly. "Relax. Come here and lie down on the couch."

"Oh no, Doctor," the man said nervously, "I'm not allowed up on the furniture."

An open compass sitting on top of a map pointing west north west.In case you need to hear this today, the compass was invented before the clock because direction was more important than how long it took to get there.

52 Bible Verses for Men Week 14: Based on John 5 and James 5

This is a spiritual or gospel-style song that weaves together two biblical narratives about healing. The first part references the Pool of Bethesda from the Gospel of John, where Jesus heals a paralyzed man. The second part draws from the Epistle of James, which encourages prayer, confession, and calling upon church elders for healing. The lyrics create a call-and-response structure, emphasizing the command to "get up" and the question of whether one truly "wants to be healed."

Temptation

picture of a bed in the early morning sun, neatly made with 2 pillows leaning on the headboard.Connie told her 3-year-old grandson, Dean, not to jump on the beds.

After several warnings she punished him, explaining that should he fall, he would hurt himself badly.

Several minutes passed and he was found jumping from one bed to the other.

Connie's friend said, "Dean, you weren't jumping on the beds again, were you?"

He stood before her with his little head dropped low and said, "I'm trying so hard to quit."

Sometimes it's Hard

Just a small patch of red in a sea of green as a single rose bud starts to burst open.Sometimes it’s hard not to ask questions.

Questions of God, though the book of Job would teach us that perhaps it’s not the best idea. Yet, “Faith is not the absence of doubt; it is continuing to follow Jesus in the midst of doubt.” JD Greear. I like that quote; it brings me comfort.

There have been events recently that have caused me to question, not my faith, just the unfairness of life, the big why question!
