Dead Politicians

An older man, maybe early 60s, with beard, moustache, glasses pulled down to below his nose glaring at us.A bus of politicians is driving by a farm where a man lives alone.

The bus driver, caught up in the beautiful scenery, loses control and crashes into the ditch.

The man comes out and finding the politicians, buries them.

The next day, the police are at the farm questioning the man.

"So you buried all the politicians?" asked the police officer.  "Were they all dead?"

The man answered, "Some said they weren't, but you know how politicians lie."

One-Liner #1972

A happy middle-aged couple sitting on bar stools looking toward us smiling. Some people need to finish chores before they can relax; others can't start chores until they've relaxed ... and those two marry each other.

Nocturnal Nag

The view from inside a stable looking out to the daylight, all the horses backlit into darkness. My horse will only come out of her stable after dark. She is becoming a night mare.

Mt. Rushmore with the carved face of Thomas Jefferson."In matters of style, swim with the current: in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

You Can't Work From Home

A side view of a laptop computer and male hands typing on the keyboard. My job recently told me that even during the snowstorm we got earlier this week, I am not allowed to work from home at all. Even though I work in IT and do everything remotely, they want me in the office.

So I deleted Teams and my email off my phone. I am no longer available after hours.

My boss tried to call me for something urgent last night and couldn't reach me. He asked why today, and I explained to him what I was told ...

I am not allowed to work from home.

A Wonderful World

A red cardinal and a sparrow on a wooden board looking at one another. We’ve all heard the expression, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.

I also read these wise words, “Before you judge my life, my past, my character … walk in my shoes, walk the path I have travelled. Live my sorrow, my doubts, my fear, my pain, my laughter. Remember, everyone has a story. When you’ve lived my life, then you can judge me.” – Simply put, we cannot live another person’s life, so we are not to judge.

I grew up in a very judgmental atmosphere. In hindsight, I can see that it came from a deep sense of insecurity, especially within my dad, who never knew who his father was.
