Cybersalt News

Sunday greetings, everyone, and Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! (Or as we call it in Canada: Thanksgiving)

venetian glass artGrandma Cybersalt and I were able to celebrate Thanksgiving last night with two of our kids and their families. Add to that the wonderful visit we had two weeks ago with our other daughter and her family, and we are chock full of gratefulness for time with family. And, as if that were not already enough, I am so thankful for some really exciting emotional healing God is doing in me in this season of my life right now. I will be 59 in just over 3 weeks, but it all has me feeling giddy like a school girl!

Today's video share is another video about an art form I would love to try some day: Venetian Glass Art this time.

Thanksgiving Forecast

Beautifully roasted turkey on a platter with brussel sprouts and parsley to adorn it.Thanksgiving Forecast Turkeys will thaw in the morning, then warm in the oven to an afternoon high near 190F.  The kitchen will turn hot and humid, and if you bother the cook, be ready for a severe squall or cold shoulder.

During the late afternoon and evening, the cold front of a knife will slice through the turkey, causing an accumulation of one to two inches on plates. Mashed potatoes will drift across one side while cranberry sauce creates slippery spots on the other.  Please pass the gravy.

A weight-watch and indigestion warning have been issued for the entire area, with increased stuffiness around the beltway.  During the evening, the turkey will diminish and taper off to leftovers, dropping to a low of 34F in the refrigerator.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday (in Canada), high pressure to eat sandwiches will be established.  Flurries of leftovers can be expected both days with a 50 percent chance of scattered soup late in the day.  We expect a warming trend where soup develops.

By early next week, eating pressure will be low as the only wish left will be the bone.

True Worship, Saying Grace, Giving Thanks

a close-up image of roast ham, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes and other food from a Thanksgiving mealA 4-year-old boy who was asked to return thanks before Thanksgiving dinner happily obliged.

The family members bowed their heads in expectation.

He began his prayer, thanking God for all his friends, naming them one by one. Then he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his aunts and uncles. Then he began to thank God for the food.

He gave thanks for the turkey, the dressing, the fruit salad, the cranberry sauce, the pies, the cakes, even the Cool Whip. Then he paused, and everyone waited ... and waited.

After a long silence, the young fellow looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"
