another romance scamRemember how I have been working on emptying my email inbox? Well, I just discovered that emails sent in reply to Cybersalt Digests have not been getting downloaded since May of 2023! So I have even more catching up to do, lol!

Today's video share is another heads up about romance scams on the internet. We need to spread the word about these and also do what we can to help those caught in them.

The Lord's Prayer - Sort of

child prayingA mother was teaching her young daughter The Lord's Prayer.

For several evenings at bedtime, the child repeated it after the mother.  Then one night the child was ready to solo. The mother listened with pride to the carefully enunciated words, right up to the end.

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us some e-mail, Amen."

Ship Building Happens

Pitcher on the mound, legs stretched out, arm wound back, ready to let the ball fly.I've been thinking about Noah's ark. It was made of gopher wood and pitched inside and out. I asked myself if the pitch was a fast-ball, a curve, a change-up or... I know they wouldn't have used a sinker.

Slow Down Therapy - Part 2

man silhouette13. Rest on your laurels. They bring comfort whatever their size, age, or condition.

14. Talk slower. Talk less. Don't talk. Communication isn't measured by words.

15. Give yourself permission to be late sometimes. Life is for living, not scheduling.

16. Listen to the song of a bird; the complete song. Music and nature are gifts, but only if you are willing to receive them.

17. Take time just to think. Action is good and necessary, but it's fruitful only if we muse, ponder, and mull.

18. Make time for play - the things you like to do. Whatever your age, your inner child needs re-creation.

19. Watch and listen to the night sky. It speaks.

20. Listen to the words you speak, especially in prayer.

21. Learn to stand back and let others take their turn as leaders. There will always be new opportunities for you to step out in front again.

22. Divide big jobs into little jobs. If God took six days to create the universe, can you hope to do any better?

23. When you find yourself rushing and anxious, stop. Ask yourself "WHY?" you are rushing and anxious. The reasons may improve your self-understanding.

24. Take time to read the Bible. Thoughtful reading is enriching reading.

25. Direct your life with purposeful choices, not with speed and efficiency. The best musician is one who plays with expression and meaning, not the one who finishes first.

Dancing in My Pajamas

dancingAfter two and a half weeks of being sick with many days in bed, I have come to appreciate what some people go through when they have a severe sickness. My sickness wasn’t that devastating. It just sucked the energy out of me and caused me a lot of coughing and sneezing.

I barely had enough energy to get out of bed, walk to the living room, and sit in my easy chair for my morning cup of coffee. I paused for a few moments to catch my breath after that strenuous trip.
