Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

Nicky Nicky Nine DoorsI was having one of the best sleeps I have had in a while last night when I was awoken at 1:55am by the front doorbell being rung three times in quick succession. I slowly got out of bed and looked outside to see if there was a police car in the driveway delivering some bad news.

Instead I saw no one - that is until I checked our security camera and discovered someone had played "nicky nicky nine doors" on the front step of Cybersalt World Headquarters. Kid will be kids, though phone pranks were more my style back in the day!

Today's video share is the security footage of the contestant running away. I wish he/she had tripped and fallen on the turn, just to make it more fun, lol!

Ashes

ceramic bowl navajoStacey makes a new friend at school and invites her home for the first time.  Stacey excuses herself to fetch her Mom and introduce her new friend.  As her friend is standing in the living room next to the fireplace, she picks up the attractive bowl on the mantle.

When Stacey returns with her mother, her friend is staring curiously into the bowl.

"Oh, those are my father's ashes," Stacey informs her new friend.  However, this startles her so that she drops the bowl with a  gasp! -- ashes and broken bowl scattering all around.

After turning three shades of red she stammers out, "Oh, no...  I'm, oh!... I, can't...  didn't mean to.."

"It's OK dear," the mother says.  "The bowl was just from Wal-Mart."

The new friend catches her breath enough to say, "But...  but your husband's ashes..."

"Well," the mother says, "looks like he'll just have to get off his lazy butt and get the ashtray from the kitchen from now on!"

Charity Begins at Home

house smallA big, burly man visited his pastor's home and asked to see the minister's wife, a woman well known for her charitable impulses.

"Madam," he said in a broken voice, "I wish to draw your attention to the terrible plight of a poor family in this district. The father of the family is dead, the mother is too ill to work, and the nine children are starving. They are about to be turned into the cold, empty streets unless someone pays their rent, which amounts to $400."

"How terrible!" exclaimed the preacher's wife. "May I ask who you are?"

They sympathetic visitor applied his handkerchief to his eyes. "I'm the landlord," he sobbed.
