Welcome to week two. I’ve got to be honest—preparing for this video and song was a battle. I faced a lot of distractions, and maybe even some opposition. It’s what happens, I think, when you try Week1todosomethingspiritual and give yourself fully to the work of the Lord. You get attacked. But here we are.

Let me start by reciting this week’s verse from memory. I’ll even close my eyes so you know I’m not cheating!

“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”> — 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

Alright! A couple of things hit me while preparing.

First, “He gives us the victory.” Victory from what? For what? It can mean a lot of things. For me this week, it was victory over frustration. I recorded this video three times. The camera failed, the memory card was full… but I persevered. I was not discouraged. That’s a practical victory.

Then, “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters…” Some translations just say “brothers” or “brethren,” but the meaning includes all of us. Language changes to make the truth clear to every culture. It doesn’t change God’s Word; it clarifies it. This reminded me of Galatians 3:26-29—that in Christ, there is no division. We are all one, heirs according to promise.

The big instruction is: “Give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord.” What does that look like day-to-day? It doesn’t mean you have to stand on a street corner preaching. For me, it’s about being a model. Titus 2:7-8 talks about showing integrity and sound speech, so that no one can speak evil of us. Ephesians 6:10-13 tells us to put on the full armor of God because our real struggle isn’t against people, but against spiritual forces. It all circles back: stand firm.

I was really encouraged this week when my mom told me she wishes she could understand my videos to hear what I’m saying about God. That was a blessing. Maybe one day I’ll translate these into Spanish.

Before I share the song, I’d love it if you could help share this content. If you like it, hitting “like” tells YouTube to show it to others who might need it.

Now, here is this week’s song for 1 Corinthians 15:57-58.
