"If you really knew Me, you would know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him."
- John 14:7
The disciples had known Jesus now for some time. They had witnessed His
works and heard His words for three years. Jesus comforts them now with
the mystery of what these things meant, (His oneness with the Father).
Having known Him, they know the Father as well. Connection by faith
with the Son means connection with Father as well.

Jesus comforts them now with the mystery of what these things meant, (His oneness with the Father). Having known Him, they know the Father as well. Connection by faith with the Son means connection with Father as well.
Their knowledge was not yet so deep and complete as it well might have been. The Father is in Jesus, and to know Him is to know the Father. The disciples had therefore seen the Father, who is revealed in the Son, with the eyes of faith, by which they had received Christ. "He that sees Christ with eyes in faith by that same process of seeing also sees the Father: for he touches that Person in whom the Father lives, and reveals all His heart and will. Col. 2:9. Thus we also see and know both Him and the Father, although not with eyes, nor through bodily seeing and knowing, but through that very faith.
Christian friends, To see and know God in all His fullness and glory, we can't approach Him like tourists. We need to seek Him at all times, with all our heart. Yesterday we heard from Thomas and tomorrow we will hear Philip's response.
Lord, I am seeking You with all my heart,
With all my soul, and all my mind;
For wondrous blessings You alone impart
In seeking I will surely find.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - To find God, we must be willing to seek Him.
